Este domingo, la ministra de Interior y Justicia, Carmen Meléndez, anunció que dentro del Plan Caracas Patriota, Bella y Segura, trabajan en un proyecto especial que comprende la recuperación completa del Cementerio General del Sur, ubicado en la parroquia Santa Rosalía, sector El Cementerio, y sus zonas aledañas; patrimonio cultural arquitectónico y patrimonio espiritual no solo de Caracas sino de toda Venezuela.
La ministra anunció que sostuvo una primera reunión con las comunas del sector El Cementerio y el gerente del Cementerio General del Sur, donde estudiaron hacer un muro perimetral, así como realizar una calle principal que beneficie a las comunidades que se encuentran detrás del Cementerio.
Asimismo, dijo que se está trabajando en cinco frentes para ir a la recuperación progresiva de El Cementerio General del Sur, recuperar su capilla, además se instaló un crematorio nuevo y la recuperación de todos estos espacios.
“Le pedimos a toda la parroquia Santa Rosalía y a todos los que hacen vida alrededor de El Cementerio General del Sur, que vamos a comenzar todos los trabajos y pronto vamos a recuperar este espacio espiritual, así como la recuperación de otras obras de la ciudad de Caracas”, indicó.
