Las nominaciones para la 94ª edición de los premios Óscar fueron anunciadas este martes, y «El poder del perro» lidera ahora la carrera en doce categorías.
Estas son cinco curiosidades de las nominaciones:
Noche de parejas
Conquistar una nominación al Óscar es siempre un honor para cualquier actor, pero ser nominado el mismo año que tu pareja debe ser mucho mejor.
La edición de este año premió a dos parejas.
Los españoles Javier Bardem y Penélope Cruz disputarán las estatuillas a mejor actor y mejor actriz, respectivamente por «Being the Ricardos» y «Madres Paralelas«. Es la cuarta nominación para ambos, que ya ganaron un Óscar cada uno.
«Estoy muy contento, especialmente por Penélope. Yo estoy muy contento por lo mío, pero lo mío no hubiera tenido sentido sin lo suyo», dijo Bardem en Madrid después del anuncio.
Kirsten Dunst y Jesse Plemons, que son pareja en la vida real e interpretan a una pareja en la cinta «El poder del perro«, conquistaron nominaciones en las categorías de reparto. Es la primera vez que ambos actores son nominados.
La lista de parejas famosas que conquistaron nominaciones al Óscar el mismo año incluye a Lynn Fontanne y Alfred Lunt, en 1932, Frank Sinatra y Ava Gardner, en 1954, Richard Burton y Elizabeth Taylor, en 1967, y Greta Gerwig y Noah Baumbach, en 2020.
Directores haciendo historia
El titán de Hollywood Steven Spielberg hizo historia en los Óscar este martes. «Amor sin barreras«, que entró en la lista de mejor película, lo convirtió en el primer productor que conquista once nominaciones.
También se anotó una octava nominación como mejor director, colocándolo al lado del gran Billy Wilder, y atrás sólo de Martin Scorsese y William Wyler.
Jane Campion, con «El poder del perro«, es la primera mujer en ser nominada dos veces a la categoría de mejor director, que disputó también hace 28 años con «La lección de piano«.
Con su amplia trayectoria, Kenneth Branagh es la primera persona en ser nominada a siete categorías diferentes por la Academia.
El director de «Belfast» nunca ganó un Óscar, pero este año compite por mejor película, mejor director y mejor guion original, entre otras.
¿EGOT para Lin-Manuel Miranda?
Los nominados a la mejor canción original integran la crema y nata de la música, con sus poderosas composiciones.
Al conquistar este martes su segunda nominación al Óscar, el compositor del tema «Dos oruguitas» de la película de Disney «Encanto», Lin-Manuel Miranda, tiene una nueva oportunidad de alcanzar el codiciado estatus EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Óscar, Tony).
Pero la competición es dura.
Las superestrellas Beyoncé («Rey Richard: una familia ganadora«) y Billie Eilish («Sin tiempo para morir«) están en la pelea también con sus primeras nominaciones, al igual que el veterano rockero Van Morrison («Belfast«).
Diane Warren, que nunca ha ganado un Óscar, llega a su 13ª nominación con el éxito «Somehow You Do«, de la película «Four Good Days«.
Flee
La danesa «Flee», que narra la peligrosa trayectoria de un refugiado de Afganistán hasta Europa, hizo historia este martes al conquistar tres nominaciones.
La película mezcla animación con imágenes reales para contar la verdadera historia de un amigo de infancia del director Jonas Poher Rasmussen, quien con esta estrategia resguardó la identidad de su protagonista.
«Así podemos divulgar su historia, sin que la gente sepa sus más íntimos secretos ni sus traumas«, dijo Rasmussen a la AFP.
La producción compite por mejor película animada, mejor película internacional y mejor documental.
Lady Gaga por fuera
Siempre una gran actriz quedará por fuera, pero algunas omisiones pueden desatar la furia en las redes sociales, como ocurrió este martes con la de Lady Gaga.
La estrella del pop encarnó a la esposa de un heredero del imperio de la moda en «La casa Gucci«.
«Gaga realmente escribió una biografía de 80 páginas sobre Patrizia, fue perseguida por un enjambre de moscas, estudió animales, contrató una enfermera especializada en psiquiatría, y habló con acento italiano por nueve meses, para finalmente ser ignorada por los Óscar«, se quejó un fan.
«No puedo creer que Gaga pasó por meses de … profundo trauma psicológico al interpretar un acento europeo solo para ser ignorada«, bromeó otro usuario de Twitter.
