China lanzó hoy una aplicación móvil para que sus ciudadanos puedan mostrar en el extranjero certificados de vacunación y los resultados de las pruebas de COVID-9 que se hayan realizado.
Se trata de una aplicación que puede abrirse a través del programa de mensajería WeChat en la que los ciudadanos chinos pueden acceder a los resultados de sus pruebas de ácido nucleico y de anticuerpos, así como a certificados de vacunación.
Los usuarios deben indicar qué país tienen pensado visitar o de cuál regresan, aunque el programa, llamado «Código de salud contra la epidemia, versión internacional», por el momento todavía no permite ver los resultados de la vacunación y está restringido a los ciudadanos chinos.
El pasado domingo, el ministro de Asuntos Exteriores chino, Wang Yi, anunció que el país asiático emitirá certificados de salud para los viajeros internacionales con el objetivo de «facilitar un tránsito seguro y ordenado de la gente».
No obstante, por el momento no se ha confirmado qué otros países o territorios aceptarán este nuevo certificado digital o si hay negociación alguna al respecto con otros gobiernos.
En ese sentido, el epidemiólogo jefe del Centro para Control y Prevención de Enfermedades de China, Wu Zunyou, planteó recientemente la posibilidad de que, ante la ausencia de contagios en su país y la posibilidad de que EE. UU. alcance una tasa de vacunación del 90 % hacia agosto, se puedan «retirar las barreras políticas» y recuperar la libertad de viajar entre ambos países.
El país asiático mantiene prácticamente cerradas sus fronteras desde el 28 de marzo del año pasado, incluso para buena parte de los extranjeros que poseen un permiso de residencia, a causa de la pandemia de coronavirus que entonces se cernía ya sobre el mundo.
Además, todas las personas procedentes del extranjero que llegan al país asiático deben someterse a estrictos controles de prevención contra el virus.
Estos incluyen un test de coronavirus en el país de origen antes de tomar un avión, uno nada más al llegar al destino y otro tras una cuarentena de 14 días en un hotel, a la que hay que sumar otros periodos de aislamiento adicionales en función de cada provincia.
