También el sábado, Diego Rubio marcó un gol y prodigó una asistencia, mientras que William Yarbrough aportó atajadas clave para que los Rapids de Colorado arrollaran 3-0 al Atlanta United
El chileno Rubio puso al frente a los Rapids con un remate de cabeza a pase de Michael Barrios a los 33 minutos.
Jonathan Lewis aumentó la ventaja a 2-0 — con una asistencia de Rubio — a los 39. Andre Shinyashiki cerró el marcador con un gol a los 86, a pase de Lucas Esteves.
En otros partidos, el Revolution de Nueva Inglaterra se impuso 1-0 sobre Dallas con un tanto del español Carles Gil. El entrenador Bruce Arena se convirtió en el líder de victorias en la historia de la MLS.
El Union de Filadelfia superó 2-1 a Montreal, con tantos de Alejandro Bedoya y Daniel Gazdag en un tramo de tres minutos; el costarricense Francisco Calvo marcó el gol con que los Earthquakes de San José igualaron 3-3 con el Crew de Columbus.
Además, los Red Bulls de Nueva York aplastaron 4-1 a Toronto; Sporting Kansas City superó 1-0 al Dynamo de Houston; los Whitecaps de Vancouver igualaron sin goles ante el New York City FC; Orlando City igualó sin goles ante el Fire de Chicago; Real Salt Lake superó 1-0 a los Sounders de Seattle; Minnesota United empató 1-1 frente a Nashville, y el D.C. United se impuso 2-0 al Cincinnati.
