Volaste muy alto, tu barco ya izó sus velas», le dice el cantante de Santa Marta a Shakira, en una canción en cuyo videoclip se intercalan imágenes de su natal Barranquilla, de su puerto y sus barrios, así como videos antiguos de la artista de «Hips don’t lie».
El video de «Currambera», donde participó el papá de la artista y varias reinas del Carnaval de Barranquilla, «cuenta por medio de diferentes escenas la historia de la vida de la estrella mundial Shakira, hilándola con su trayectoria musical y al mismo tiempo, nos habla de las características de la mujer barranquillera», apuntó la productora Sony en un comunicado.
«Ella es el resultado de una cultura, o mejor, del encuentro de muchas culturas en este mágico lugar llamado Curramba», comentó Carlos Vives en una referencia a Barranquilla, según el comunicado. La canción es también un homenaje a todas las mujeres de Barranquilla, las curramberas; a sus bailes, sus movimientos y sus caderas: «Currambera, que luces tu pollera. Cumbiambera que mueves tu cadera», repite el cantante colombiano.
Shakira cumple este 2 de febrero 45 años, con una trayectoria de más de tres décadas en la música que ha dejado canciones como «Estoy aquí» o «Te dejo Madrid» o el paso a ritmos urbanos con éxitos como «Loba», «Rabiosa» o «La bicicleta», en la que colabora con Carlos Vives.
