Tras conocerse el caso, sabuesos del Cicpc, iniciaron las investigaciones y experticias forenses, las cuales dieron resultado positivo. Además, se conoció que Landaeta era psicólogo tratante de la víctima, quien se aprovechó de la situación vulnerable para tratar de cometer el hecho.
El detenido fue puesto a la orden de la Fiscalía Octava del Ministerio Público del estado Yaracuy.
