El candidato presidencial de la principal coalición antichavista, Edmundo González Urrutia, aseguró este viernes que trabajará para construir la Venezuela que “desea”, en la que los ciudadanos no tengan necesidad de “recurrir a la dádiva”, en caso de ganar las elecciones del próximo 28 de julio.
En su primer acto de calle en Caracas, el exembajador conversó con líderes comunitarios de una zona considerada un bastión del chavismo, que buscará mantener el poder que ostenta desde 1999, con la candidatura de Nicolás Maduro, que persigue un tercer mandato consecutivo.
“Yo deseo un país sin violencia, en el que se pueda dormir en paz, en el que no se tenga que acudir a la dádiva. Queremos construir una sociedad de todos, solidaria como la que expresaron ustedes aquí, una Venezuela de emprendedores”, dijo el opositor de 74 años, citado en una nota de prensa.
La actividad ha sido el segundo contacto del candidato con ciudadanos, después de que el pasado sábado se estrenara en los actos de masas con un mitin en la ciudad de La Victoria -su lugar de nacimiento-, a unos 90 kilómetros de Caracas.
Luego de conversar con los caraqueños, el antichavista calificó de “nefasto” al Gobierno de Maduro y reiteró su promesa de construir un país en el que “el presidente no insulte” y en el que el “adversario político se vea como adversario y no como enemigo”.
La Plataforma Unitaria Democrática (PUD), el mayor bloque antichavista, escogió a González Urrutia como su abanderado para las presidenciales, luego de que la Justicia ratificase una inhabilitación política a María Corina Machado, quien había sido elegida en primarias para competir por la Presidencia.
