La Unidad de Información y Estadística de la Cámara de Comercio de Maracaibo presentó el informe mensual de la Canasta Alimentaria para la ciudad. Las cifras relevadas por la institución indican que una familia de cinco personas necesitó 570 millones 716 mil 426 bolívares para cubrir sus necesidades alimentarias básicas durante el mes estudiado, mostrando un incremento absoluto de 55 millones 871 mil 279 bolívares con respecto a febrero.
El costo expresado en dólares, se ubicó en $ 290, según el tipo de cambio oficial del Banco Central de Venezuela correspondiente al 31/03/2021. Resultado que indica una variación de un cinco por ciento o $ 18 con respecto al mes anterior.
En el primer trimestre del año la inflación acumulada representó 93 por ciento. Mientras que la inflación interanual (marzo 2020- marzo 2021) fue de un mil 777 por ciento, cifra que evidencia la imposibilidad que tienen los consumidores marabinos para adquirir dicha canasta.
