Bernal respondió a los señalamientos hechos por la mandataria regional, Laidy Gómez; quien afirmó que el martes permaneció cerrado el paso fronterizo, publicó Unión Radio.
Al respecto, Bernal dijo que los actos conmemorativos por el aniversario del Congreso de Cúcuta retrasaron la decisión.
«Después de los actos conmemorativos de Cúcuta, este viernes, si así se logra acordar entre el Seniat y la Dian; vamos a abrir comercialmente por Ureña. Porque vamos a ir midiendo lo que se denomina una apertura progresiva, porque tenía seis años sin el paso de mercancía», dijo Bernal en entrevista con Esther Quiaro en el programa Al instante de Unión Radio.
El protector del Táchira calificó como «fundamental» la apertura comercial, progresiva y biosegura de la frontera con Colombia para dinamizar la economía de la entidad andina.
Recordó que la relación entre Táchira y el Norte de Santander «es humana, comercial, cultural, y no la va a parar nadie, está por encima de las ideologías de Venezuela y Colombia».
