El Banco Central de Venezuela (BCV) se reunió este jueves con varias entidades del país para analizar distintas variables estadísticas, operativas y tecnológicas para la reconversión monetaria que eliminará seis ceros al bolívar soberano, que pasará a llamarse digital y entrará en vigor el 1 de octubre.
En la reunión, participaron delegados del Servicio Nacional Integrado de Administración Aduanera y Tributaria (Seniat), la Superintendencia de las Instituciones del Sector Bancario (Sudeban), el Fondo De Desarrollo Nacional (Fonden) y el Banco de Desarrollo Económico y Social de Venezuela (Bandes), detalló el Ministerio de las Comunicaciones en un comunicado, reseñó EFE.
También la Superintendencia Nacional para la Defensa de los Derechos Socioeconómicos (Sundde), el Servicio Autónomo Nacional de Normalización, Calidad, Metrología y Reglamentos Técnicos (Sencamer), la Oficina Nacional de Presupuesto (Onapre), la Oficina Nacional de Contabilidad Pública (Oncop) y la Oficina Nacional del Tesoro (ONT), entre otros.
Posteriormente, el BCV «continuará realizando estas reuniones técnicas para abordar las adecuaciones, aspectos del redondeo y lineamientos tecnológicos», agregó la información.
Tras la nueva reconversión, todo importe monetario expresado en bolívares soberanos se dividirá entre un millón para ser denominado en bolívares digitales.
A pesar del nuevo nombre, contará con monedas de 1 bolívar y billetes de 5, 10, 20, 50 y 100 bolívares en formato físico, todos ellos con el rostro de Simón Bolívar en el anverso y una alusión a la batalla de Carabobo, clave en la independencia, en el reverso.
Actualmente, 4.117.054,64 bolívares soberanos se cambian por un dólar, según el último reporte del BCV, mientras que el billete de más alta denominación es el de un millón.
Debido a la devaluación del actual bolívar soberano, los billetes habían desaparecido en su práctica totalidad, ya que el de mayor denominación, el de un millón de bolívares, vale cerca de 25 centavos de dólar y con él apenas se puede comprar dos pasajes de autobús urbano en Caracas.
