El presidente de la Asociación Venezolana De Agencias De Viajes Y Turismo (Avavit), Nicola Furnari, manifestó su preocupación ante la variante ómicron y su posible repercusión en el sector turístico.
“A pesar de ser más contagiosa, es menos peligrosa y como hoy en día ya tenemos casi ocho billones de personas vacunadas en el mundo, pues es más difícil que esta nueva cepa nos lleve a la clínica o a situaciones peores a esa”, añadió.
Furnari indicó en el programa A Tiempo de Unión Radio que Venezuela ha flexibilizado bastante desde que se permitieron los vuelos nacionales constantes.
“Hemos hecho un llamado para que continúe de esta manera la parte turística, aunque en este momento pareciera difícil atender este llamado por el tema de la nueva cepa”, agregó.
Furnari indicó que aunque hasta el momento no se han reportado casos de la nueva variante, pero pide “no bajar la guardia”.
Furnari reportó un aumento en las ventas del sector turístico.
«En este momento, podemos decir que sí ha habido un crecimiento comparativamente con el año pasado, pero no todavía a niveles prepandemia», añadió.
