Autoridades mexicanas interceptaron a 65 migrantes centroamericanos que viajaban hacinados en un tráiler en el norteño estado de Coahuila, fronterizo con Estados Unidos.
“El Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) de la Secretaría de Gobernación (Segob) rescató anoche a 65 personas migrantes hacinadas al interior de la caja seca de un tráiler que transitaba por la Carretera 57 Matehuala-Monterrey”, informó este sábado dicho instituto en un comunicado, reseñó EFE.
De los 65 migrantes capturados, 41 personas son de Nicaragua, 15 de Honduras, cuatro de El Salvador, 2 de Guatemala y 3 de “nacionalidad presuntamente mexicana”, detalló el INM.
En el operativo también participó la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR).
“Las personas provenientes de naciones centroamericanas fueron llevadas a sedes migratorias para iniciar el proceso administrativo correspondiente. Las otras tres aparentemente de origen mexicano fueron canalizadas a la FGR para determinar su situación jurídica”, expuso el INM.
El tráfico de migrantes en tráileres se ha convertido en un usual modus operandi en México.
También es un reflejo del flujo récord de migrantes hacia Estados Unidos, cuya Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP) detectó a más de 1,7 millones de indocumentados en la frontera con México en el año fiscal 2021, que terminó el 30 de septiembre.
México interceptó a más de 252.000 migrantes indocumentados de enero a noviembre y deportó a más de 100.000 en el mismo periodo, cifras no vistas en cerca de 15 años, de acuerdo con la Unidad de Política Migratoria de la Secretaría de Gobernación del país.
Las autoridades mexicanas han recibido críticas por el despliegue de más de 20.000 elementos de las Fuerzas Armadas en las fronteras norte y sur para contener a los migrantes.
“El INM refrenda su compromiso por una migración segura, ordenada y regular, con pleno respeto a los derechos y salvaguarda de los derechos de las personas en contexto de movilidad por territorio nacional”, aseveró la dependencia este sábado.
