Leocenis García, coordinador nacional del Movimiento Prociudadanos, fue detenido presuntamente por autoridades de Venezuela, así se informó a través de la cuenta de Twitter de la organización política la mañana de este sábado.
La detención habría sido en El Carretal, localidad ubicada a unos 39 kilómetros de Sinamaica en el municipio Guajira del estado Zulia, tras ingresar al país luego de una gira que tuvo por Colombia y Estados Unidos.
Hasta el momento, no hay anuncio oficial de la detención, pero cabe recordar que García tiene prohibición de salida del país, según informó él mismo en Twitter en enero de este año.
«El régimen de Maduro debería en vez de hacer un show de diálogo. Dar muestras. Por ejemplo, a mi me mantienen confiscada casa, prohibición de salida del país y con el pasaporte cancelado. Perseguir así, a sus opositores, no es una muestra de diálogo ninguno», recordó.
El dirigente político en estos últimos días se hizo noticia al conversar con Álvaro Uribe, expresidente de Colombia, mediante una videoconferencia en Bogotá.
Sin embargo, según publicación de El Nacional trascendió que García estuvo unos días en Bogotá, después de terminar una gira en Washington donde fue recibido por Bill Clinton, Keith Mines, The United State Institute of Peace en Washington y Evan Ellis, del partido Republicano y miembro de Estudios Estratégicos de la Escuela de Guerra del Ejército de Estados Unidos, así como asesor del Pentágono. Además de Amy Archibald, jefa de la oficina de Venezuela del Departamento de Estado y el secretario general de la OEA, Luis Almagro.
