El presidente de la Asociación Nacional de Supermercados y Autoservicios (Ansa), Italo Atencio, explicó que el sector de los supermercados empieza a recuperarse en ventas, abastecimiento y consumo de productos básicos, específicamente en la canasta de alimentos no perecederos y bebidas no alcohólicas después de la caída que hubo durante el año 2020 por la pandemia y otros factores económicos.
“Cuando tomamos en cuenta los rubros que llamamos de la canasta de no perecederos, el crecimiento ha sido de enero a agosto 2021 contra enero-agosto 2019, del 5%”, señala el portal Banca y Negocios.
Atencio además se refirió además a que el aumento del precio de la gasolina subsidiada no impactará de forma representativa en la categoría de los productos de precios acordados.
“Aunque cuando uno habla de un aumento importante de 1.900%, todavía la gasolina sigue siendo la más barata del mundo. En este momento eso no es un impacto mayor en la estructura de costos de los productos que pertenecen a las 27 categorías de precios acordados”, aseguró.
Resaltó que los bienes con precios acordados representan 35% de las ventas de los supermercados. El gremio realiza mesas técnicas con el Ministerio del Comercio para lograr un equilibrio en la cadena de valor de los productos.
“Lo que más ha funcionado para regular los precios es el libre juego de la oferta y la demanda que opera, generalmente, en un mercado de competencia perfecta. En Venezuela estamos en ese proceso, lo que quiere decir que no es el libre juego de la oferta y la demanda lo que va a regular en este momento los precios de algunos productos», indica Atencio.
El presidente de Ansa, Italo Atencio, aseguró que la tendencia es a la recuperación en estos dos últimos meses del año, por la temporada decembrina y la flexibilización de la cuarentena, sin dejar de lado que hay aspectos por mejorar, como el deterioro de los servicios públicos, la conectividad, el financiamiento y los incentivos fiscales.
