La organización Amnistía Internacional exigió este martes el esclarecimiento de la muerte en prisión del militar venezolano Raúl Baduel y acusó que pasó años detenido en «condiciones inhumanas».

Baduel, considerado «preso político» desde su detención en 2009, falleció este martes, a los 66 años, por un paro cardiorrespiratorio como consecuencia de la COVID-19, según informaron autoridades venezolanas, reseña EFE.

«Raúl Baduel muere bajo custodia del Estado, después de que hace días su familia denunciara su traslado a El Helicoide, y sin que hubiera notificación sobre su salud», escribió en un mensaje en Twitter, Erika Guevara Rosas, directora de AI para las Américas, con sede en México.

«El General Baduel pasó años detenido en condiciones inhumanas. ¡Exigimos justicia y se esclarezca su muerte!», añadió.

El pasado 29 de septiembre, Andreina Baduel, hija de el general, denunció el traslado de su padre de los sótanos del Sebin, conocidos como «La Tumba», a otra sede del servicio de inteligencia en Caracas.
