Los grupos de edad jóvenes son los más afectados por los contagios y donde los porcentajes de positivos son con diferencia los más elevados. «Esto muestra claramente el inicio de la cuarta ola, que está ganando ritmo sobre todo por las infecciones en la población adulta joven», afirma el RKI.
También la cifra de hospitalizados con covid-19 está volviendo a aumentar y la mayoría de casos son en la franja de edad entre los 35 y los 59 años.
La variante Delta, predominante en el país, es responsable de hasta el 99 % de los contagios, mientras el resto de casos es atribuible a la variante Alfa.
