Con el propósito de obtener una radiografía de los problemas que aquejan a la ciudad, la Alcaldía de Maracaibo, a través de la Dirección General de Desarrollo Social, aplicó desde el 2 al 19 de febrero un estudio de opinión en hogares de las 18 parroquias y los datos arrojados fueron revelados en el segundo día del I Encuentro de Actores Humanitarios ‘Una visión social de Maracaibo’ que se lleva a cabo en el Hotel Tibisay del Lago.
La encuesta abarcó temas como; educación, salud, empleo, discriminación, violencia basada en género, entre otros aspectos que se deben conocer para idear programas que brinden soluciones. El trabajo de campo estuvo a cargo de la Dirección General de Desarrollo Social, junto a los voluntarios del programa juvenil «Construyendo Futuro», bajo la asesoría del politólogo Efraín Rincón y el Alto Comisionado de Naciones Unidas para Refugiados (ACNUR).
Sara Fernández, directora de Desarrollo Social, mostró los resultados ante los asistentes del mencionado encuentro. Destacó que el estudio de opinión les permite tener una “visión real” del municipio.
“Vamos a poder generar políticas más efectivas, más transparentes y con mayores enfoques para lograr los objetivos en las comunidades y nos va a permitir seguir atendiendo las poblaciones que están en estado de vulnerabilidad, lograr superar el asistencialismo para ir al desarrollo”, recalcó la Directora.
Fernández precisó que los resultados de la encuesta revelaron una serie de desafíos sociales que requieren una acción inmediata por parte de las autoridades y la sociedad en general.
Detalló que entre los problemas más recurrentes se encuentran: la falta de servicios básicos, la desescolarización, por falta de recursos económicos en jóvenes mayores de 14 años; el alto porcentaje de personas con discapacidad no atendidas, entre otros.
En base a los datos arrojados, la Dirección General de Desarrollo Social abrió pasos a mesas de trabajo con actores humanitarios y sociales de Maracaibo para cohesionar esfuerzos de verdadera intervención con resultados tangibles. Esto como la última de las tres partes que ha desarrollado el I Encuentro con Actores Humanitarios.
