Al menos cuatro civiles murieron y otros once resultaron heridos, todos ellos profesores o estudiantes, al estallar hoy una bomba al paso de un autobús universitario en la provincia de Parwan, en el norte de Afganistán, informaron fuentes del ministerio afgano del Interior.
La explosión tuvo lugar hacia las 16.15 (11.45 GMT) en Charikar, capital de Parwan, cuando profesores y estudiantes de la Universidad Alberoni regresaban a sus casas desde el centro de estudios, dijo a Efe el portavoz del Ministerio del Interior, Tariq Arian.
Entre los heridos se encuentra el rector de la Universidad Alberoni, Abdul Qahar Sarwari, según explicó él mismo en su cuenta de Facebook.
“Este atentado se produjo el mismo día en el que el Gobierno afgano decidió cerrar todos los centros educativos del país durante al menos dos semanas debido al incremento de casos de COVID-19 durante esta tercera ola de la pandemia en Afganistán».
Este suceso es el último de una serie de ataques selectivos contra civiles en áreas urbanas, que se producen sobre todo desde la firma del histórico acuerdo en Doha en febrero de 2020 entre Estados Unidos y los talibanes, y que se incrementaron aún más con el inicio de las conversaciones intraafganas en septiembre.
La mayoría de las víctimas de estos ataques son civiles, incluidos activistas de derechos humanos, intelectuales y periodistas, en muchos casos mujeres.
Kabul ha culpado siempre a los talibanes de estar detrás de estos ataques selectivos, pero los insurgentes lo niegan, y afirman que es una artimaña de las autoridades afganas para desprestigiarlos.
A estos ataques selectivos se suma el aumento de la violencia desde que el pasado 1 de mayo comenzó la retirada oficial de las tropas de EEUU y de la OTAN del país, que tiene previsto completarse antes del simbólico 11 de septiembre, cuando se cumplen 20 años de los atentados que desencadenaron la invasión de Afganistán.
Solo en las últimas 24 horas se ha informado de combates en 18 de las 34 provincias afganas, según informó el Ministerios de Defensa, en los que al menos 210 talibanes murieron y 95 resultaron heridos. /EFE.
