Al menos 15 personas murieron el sábado (19.06.2021) en diversos ataques violentos de grupos criminales ocurridos en la ciudad mexicana de Reynosa, perteneciente al estado de Tamaulipas y fronteriza con Texas, Estados Unidos.
El Grupo de Coordinación Estatal para la Construcción de la Paz en Tamaulipas informó de 14 asesinatos en las colonias (barrios) de Almaguer, Lampacitos, Unidad Obrera y Bienestar por sujetos armados a bordo de vehículos, y de una muerte adicional en una agresión contra policías cerca del puente fronterizo de Pharr.
Aunque periodistas locales reportan hasta 16 muertes, esta cifra no se ha confirmado de manera oficial.
Tras los incidentes, las autoridades notificaron el despliegue de un número no precisado de efectivos del Ejército, la Guardia Nacional, la Policía Estatal y la Fiscalía General de Justicia de Tamaulipas para patrullaje, vigilancia e investigación.

«Se iniciaron las indagatorias para establecer las causas de los homicidios y localizar a los responsables, particularmente en las acciones de vigilancia y patrullaje que se llevan a cabo en diversos puntos de Reynosa», indicó el último informe oficial, de las 17.30 horas (22.30 GMT).
De momento se desconoce la identidad de las víctimas y de los atacantes, así como el motivo de las agresiones. Hubo un detenido pero no se ha aclarado si tiene relación con estos crímenes.
La frontera de Tamaulipas con Estados Unidos ha sido escenario de hechos violentos recientes.
En mayo el presidente nacional del partido gubernamental Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena), Mario Delgado, denunció que un grupo armado lo retuvo mientras iba de Matamoros a Reynosa en las campañas previas a la elección del 6 de junio.
Y el 22 de enero pasado se hallaron 19 cuerpos calcinados en una camioneta en el poblado de Santa Anita, del municipio de Camargo, de los que 16 eran guatemaltecos.
