Un hombre autista acusó al veterano exjugador de las Grandes Ligas, el venezolano Omar Vizquel, de acoso sexual mientras administraba una filial de ligas menores de los Medias Blancas de Chicago.
En su demanda civil, el hombre, cuyo nombre no se da a conocer porque las acusaciones involucran conducta sexual inapropiada, alega que Vizquel expuso su órgano sexual y lo obligó a limpiarle la espalda mientras Vizquel se duchaba.
El hombre era un «bat boy» para los Birmingham Barons, la filial Doble-A de los Medias Blancas, cuando Vizquel dirigió el equipo en 2019.
La demanda detalla un supuesto «comportamiento sexualmente agresivo» en «al menos cinco ocasiones» en las que «Vizquel expuso deliberadamente su órgano sexual al hombre».
De acuerdo con la demanda, el 22 de agosto de 2019, Vizquel salió desnudo de una ducha, le entregó al hombre una pastilla de jabón y le dijo: «¡Lávame la maldita espalda!».
El hombre, «humillado, intimidado y asustado de lo que sucedería si desobedecía … cumplió con la demanda de Vizquel», agrega la denuncia.
La demanda continúa diciendo que cuando lo contrataron, varios miembros del personal de Barons, incluyendo el mánager de la casa club, le dijeron: «Todo lo que sucede en la casa club se queda en la casa club», y que se rieron cuando supieron que le había lavado la espalda a Vizquel.
El argumento legal, presentado por el hombre de 25 años en el Tribunal de Distrito de Estados Unidos en Alabama y reportado por primera vez por Conduct Detrimental, acusa a los Medias Blancas y Barons de violar el Acta de Estadounidenses con Discapacidades, y busca pagos atrasados y daños.
Mientras que en un comunicado, los Medias Blancas dijeron: «Después de enterarse por primera vez de un presunto incidente a fines de agosto de 2019, los Medias Blancas de Chicago llevaron a cabo una investigación interna que resultó en la terminación de la relación de la organización con Omar Vizquel».
Agrega que «Debido a que se trata de un litigio activo, los Medias Blancas no comentarán más sobre las acusaciones incluidas en esta demanda».
Vizquel, de 54 años, acusado el año pasado por su esposa, Blanca, de múltiples casos de abuso físico, fue arrestado una vez pero no fue acusado. El venezolano ha negado haber abusado de su esposa, quien inició un proceso de divorcio el año pasado.
Las Grandes Ligas han reconocido haber investigado la conducta personal y profesional de Vizquel, aunque no ha sido empleado por una organización desde que los de Chicago lo despidieron y la investigación permanece abierta, según una fuente.
Vizquel fue despedido la semana pasada como piloto de los Tijuana Bulls en la Liga Mexicana de Béisbol luego de dos temporadas.
