Las fuertes lluvias han dejado varios fallecidos y desaparecidos a raíz del desborde de ríos en zonas como Tovar, Santa Cruz de Mora y Pueblo Nuevo del Sur.
La organización Cáritas Arquidiocesana de Mérida habilitó diversos espacios en el estado andino para recolectar insumos para ayudar a las personas afectadas por el desborde de quebradas y las fuertes lluvias de las últimas horas.
Entre las solicitudes destacan: alimentos no perecederos, ropa en buen estado, productos de higiene personal, medicamentos, entre otros.
Quienes deseen colaborar pueden dirigirse a: Cáritas Arquidiocesana (Santa Bárbara), Centro Pastoral monseñor Miguel Antonio Salas, y en sus sedes de El Llanito, Nuestra Señora de Belén, El Castor, avenida 16 de Septiembre y Santa Juana.
Las autoridades contabilizan 13 fallecidos y varios desaparecidos, principalmente en los sectores de Tovar y Zea.
Caracas
Los centros de acopio también se activaron en Caracas, a través de la arquidiócesis en:
Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Catia, Parroquia Dulce Nombre de Jesús – Petare, Parroquia El Buen Pastor – Bello Campo Chacao, Parroquia La Anunciación del Señor – Urb. La Boyera, El Hatillo, Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Paz – Montalbán y Parroquia La inmaculada Concepción – El Recreo.
