Luis Suárez declara sentirse “orgulloso” de haber alcanzado los 500 goles

El delantero uruguayo del Atlético de Madrid Luis Suárez declaró sentirse “orgulloso” de haber alcanzado los 500 goles como futbolista profesional, después del gol que marcó este domingo al Alavés en el Wanda Metropolitano, con el que le dio la victoria al líder de liguero (1-0).

“Llegar a esta cifra de goles creo que uno a nivel personal se tiene que sentir orgulloso. Contento y feliz por la trayectoria que uno va haciendo”, manifestó el delantero charrúa en declaraciones ofrecidas por el Atlético.

Suárez consideró esos 500 tantos constituyen “una marca difícil e importante” y enfatizó que lo fundamental de este último es que sirviera para sumar los tres puntos con el Atlético. “Sirvió para ayudar al equipo que es muy lindo, es muy importante, es nuestro objetivo ganar los partidos”, agregó.

El delantero rojiblanco reconoció que el duelo contra el Alavés era muy importante porque el equipo venía “de un momento difícil” tras caer en octavos de final de la Liga de Campeones contra el Chelsea inglés, por un global de 3-0.

“Las eliminaciones de ‘Champions’ siempre son dolorosas, cuesta sanarlas, y éramos conscientes. Era un partido clave, había que ganar sea como sea”, explicó.

En la victoria compartió protagonismo con el portero esloveno Jan Oblak, que aseguró el triunfo deteniendo un penalti en los minutos finales al delantero alavesista Joselu Mato.

“La Liga te da esto de sufrir, que todos los partidos sean difíciles. Si no hubiese sido por Jan hoy no hubiéremos llevamos los tres puntos, por eso hay que estar contentos de que se ganó, que todo el equipo rindió”, concluyó.

Suárez agradece a todos sus clubes en una carta

El delantero uruguayo celebró las 500 dianas al lograr su tanto número 19 en 31 partidos con el Atlético, a los que suma los 198 goles que hizo con el Barcelona (donde es el tercer máximo goleador del club), 111 con el Ajax de Amsterdam neerlandés, 82 con el Liverpool inglés, 15 con el Groningen y 12 con el Nacional de Montevideo, el club en el que debutó como deportista profesional en mayo de 2005. Junto a esos se agregan 63 tantos con la selección uruguaya, en la que también es el máximo realizador histórico.

A todos ellos les dirigió una carta, publicada este lunes a través de sus redes sociales, comenzando por su debut en Nacional. “Cuando hice mi debut profesional con el equipo de mis sueños de la infancia, pensé que nada podía ser mejor que eso, y entonces ganamos la liga juntos”, recordó.

En la misiva también agradeció “la confianza y el apoyo” del Groningen neerlandés, su primer destino europeo, y el impacto en su carrera del Ajax. “Difícilmente había un lugar mejor para aprender y creer como jugador. Haber capitaneado a un club así es de lo más grande que conseguí en mi carrera”, aseguró.

Respecto al Liverpool destacó “la conexión con los hinchas”, y en el Barcelona pudo “jugar con los mejores jugadores del mundo y conquistar Europa”.

Acerca de su actual club, el Atlético, dijo que está “disfrutando y luchando” por el club, que desea marcar “muchos más goles” y que desea que vuelvan pronto los aficionados para poder “celebrarlos juntos”, así como recordó que representar a Uruguay con la selección siempre fue “el mayor honor”.

Por último, se dirigió a los aficionados, que jugaron “su parte en todos los goles” según Suárez, que se despidió con un agradecimiento.: “A todos los aficionados que me apoyaron en mis equipos a lo largo de todos estos años, desde Montevideo hasta Madrid, de 0 a 500. Y lo que esté por venir…”.
