Centenares de personas se manifestaron este domingo en la ciudad de Iquique contra la migración ilegal en el norte de Chile, donde existe desde hace meses una grave crisis migratoria y de inseguridad.
Al grito de «Basta ya» y agitando banderas de Chile, los manifestantes marcharon por el centro de esta ciudad costera, a la que llegan la mayoría de los migrantes que cruzan diariamente por pasos ilegales en la frontera con Bolivia.
La marcha, a la que se sumaron algunos migrantes, se produce días después de que cuatro venezolanos atacaron a un policía en Iquique que les estaba haciendo un control.
«En este último tiempo hemos visto cómo ha cambiado nuestra ciudad. Siempre hemos estado con extranjeros, con peruanos y bolivianos, pero esto ha pasado todos lo límites y hay una delincuencia terrible», dijo a EFE la manifestante Patricia Pizarro.
Para este lunes hay un llamado a paralizar las actividades en Iquique, incluido el puerto y al que se han sumado los camioneros, que amenazan además con bloquear la entrada y salida de la ciudad.
